This role is for a JCF grade level doctor and is eligible for full registration with the GMC.
Salisbury ED currently has a spacious 3‑beded Resus, 14‑beded Majors, paediatric assessment area and a newly built minors department. The department covers a large geographic area, seeing over 48,000 new patients per year, with paediatric patients making up approximately 25% of the total. Salisbury is a designated Trauma Unit linked to UHS as our nearest MTC and has extensive military population coverage. The ED is supported by an experienced cohort of nurses, senior sisters, and 3 ENPs covering the minors area. Overnight surgical work is covered by a pooled junior doctor rota supported by critical care outreach; anaesthetics, medicine, O&G and paediatrics all have registrar presence overnight. Salisbury ED is recognised as one of the top performing EDs in the region and is benchmarked in the top 10 nationally against a number of clinical and non‑clinical standards.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
An initial fixed‑term appointment for 6 months, with potential to extend. The salary range is £54,499 to £67,325 per annum (pro rata if part‑time). Flexible and part‑time working arrangements are supported.
