The Tuition College – Manchester (Longsight)

Full-Time | Permanent


Performance Bonus:

£3,000 – £10,000 based on student enrolment and centre growth


About The Tuition College:

The Tuition College is an established tuition and examination centre based in Manchester, supporting students across GCSE and A-Level qualifications.

We are now seeking an Education Centre Manager to work directly with the Business Owner to oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre while driving student recruitment and business growth.

This is a key leadership role for someone who is highly organiser, commercially minded and motivated to grow a successful education centre. The successful candidate will play a central role in increasing student numbers, building local partnerships and managing the operational delivery of the centre.

As part of this role, the successful candidate will also act as the Designated Exams Officer, ensuring examinations are administered professionally and in compliance with JCQ regulations.

We are looking for someone with the vision and drive to help take the centre into its next phase of growth.


Working Hours:

This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week).

Standard working hours will be either:


Option 1

Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm


Option 2

Monday to Friday – 12:00pm to 8:00pm

During exam seasons, additional flexibility will be required and working hours may shift to:


Exam Season Hours

Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:00pm

Flexibility during peak examination periods is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Student Recruitment & Marketing:

* Develop and implement local marketing campaigns to increase student enrolment
* Build strong relationships with local schools and community organisations
* Manage the centre’s social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads)
* Organise and promote open days and assessment events
* Convert enquiries into student enrolments
* Monitor marketing performance and lead generation activity
* Oversee the daily operations of the tuition centre
* Manage tutors and teaching assistants
* Ensure a high standard of teaching quality and customer experience
* Handle parent enquiries and student progress discussions
* Maintain smooth operational systems and centre administration

3. Business Growth:

* Develop partnerships with local schools and educational organisations
* Increase student numbers and centre revenue
* Manage the marketing budget effectively
* Monitor conversion rates, student retention and growth metrics
* Identify opportunities to expand services and improve operational performance

4. Customer Relationship Management:

* Build strong relationships with parents and students
* Ensure high levels of student retention
* Handle complaints and feedback professionally
* Maintain excellent standards of customer service and communication

Designated Exams Officer Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will also act as the Designated Exams Officer, responsible for:

* Managing GCSE and A-Level examination entries
* Liaising with awarding bodies (Pearson Edexcel, OCR etc.)
* Ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations
* Coordinating exam timetables, seating plans and invigilators
* Managing post‑results services such as reviews of marking and appeals

Training and support will be provided where required.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

* 5+ years experience in marketing, education or centre management
* Experience in lead generation and sales conversion
* Strong community networking ability
* Excellent communication skills with parents, students and staff
* Experience managing staff or teams
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A proactive and commercially minded approach


Personal Qualities:

* Highly organised and proactive
* Commercially aware and growth focused
* Confident in building relationships within the community
* Able to take ownership and work independently
* Motivated to help grow and develop the centre


Salary & Bonus:

Base Salary: £36,000 per year

A performance‑based bonus structure will also be offered, linked to student enrolment and centre growth.
