About Canterbury Cathedral
Canterbury Cathedral is the cathedral of the archbishop of Canterbury, the leader of the Church of England and symbolic leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Located in Canterbury, Kent, it is one of the oldest Christian structures in England and forms part of a World Heritage Site.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Cathedral as a Visitor Experience Supervisor.
You will be joining an upbeat team committed to delivering an excellent visitor experience, welcoming visitors across the Visitor Centre, Admission Tills, Media Desk, Cathedral Floor and Shops.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for welcoming all visitors, schools, worshippers, pilgrims and groups visiting Canterbury Cathedral. You'll be key to providing a friendly, helpful and approachable service to all visitors, enabling them to enjoy their day to the fullest, from meeting and greeting groups to selling and processing Cathedral passes. In addition, as your role as Supervisor, you will also be responsible for:
* Administering daily/weekly staff rotas, ensuring worksheets and sickness notifications are kept up to date
* Ensuring that tills are up and running before opening times
* Training new starters
* Completing regular 1-2-1s and staff reviews
Please note this is a weekend-based role with the following shift pattern:
Saturday 9.15am to 5.15pm
Sunday 10.30am to 5.15pm
