What you'll be doing
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Be at the forefront of complex, novel, and high-value water and water recycling projects
Drive technical excellence, share your expertise, and shape best practices across the commissioning team
Mentor and support apprentices and assistant engineers to develop the next generation of talent
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and operations teams to influence solutions from the start
Lead and manage on-site commissioning activities on major infrastructure projects
Deliver detailed commissioning plans, risk assessments, and impact assessments
Ensure a zero-customer-impact approach to commissioning
Engage in factory testing, site acceptance testing, and performance optimisation
Apply your knowledge of PLCs, MCCs, process control systems, and water/wastewater treatment
Work with a wide range of internal teams and industry-leading external partners
Log and share lessons learned to continuously improve delivery and performance
Make a real difference to projects ranging from £1M to £75M in value
Use your experience to deliver on time, to budget, and safely
Who we're looking for
Qualifications we’re looking for:
HNC (BTEC Level 4) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
Proven commissioning experience in wastewater
Site expertise with control systems, process optimisation, and operations
Experience supervising engineers or contractors
Degree and professional membership – a bonus!
Essential skills:
Strong communicator and collaborator
Able to juggle priorities across multiple complex projects
Full UK driving license
IT literate and solutions-focused
Make a sustainable difference in how water is delivered, today and for the future
