Behaviour Support Worker – South Leeds

Ready to make a real difference in a young person’s school day? We’re working with a vibrant secondary school in South Leeds to find a Behaviour Support Worker who brings calm, care, and a knack for connection.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting students to re-engage with lessons and settle into mainstream classes
* Working with teachers and SLT to run small-group and 1:1 interventions
* Helping students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs
* Using behaviour de-escalation and restorative approaches to keep classrooms calm
* Building trusted relationships with students, staff, and families
* Being a go-to person for pastoral support and everyday encouragement
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with young people (ideally within the education sector is ideal, however, other childcare experience is also appropriate)
* Confidence managing behaviour with empathy and fairness
* A solid understanding of SEMH needs—and how to support them
* Bonus if you’ve worked with students with SEND (ASD, ADHD etc.), but not a dealbreaker
* A warm, patient approach and a genuine desire to help students succeed
The Details:
* Monday to Friday, term-time only
* Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Mon–Thurs), 8:30am – 3:15pm (Fridays)
* Long-term temporary role with potential to become permanent
* Up to 13 weeks of holiday per year.
* Based in a well-supported, forward-thinking secondary school.
* Competitive rate of pay – specific salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
