Job type: Permanent; full time; 52 weeks. Start date: 5 January 2026 or earlier.

Due to the retirement of the current School Business Manager, the appointment will be effective from 5 January 2026 or earlier. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Headteacher.
You will be responsible for the financial strategy and business management of the school, including premises. In this role, you are the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary to the Trustee Board.
The Successful Applicant will be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
* Lead on all financial and business matters within the school, ensuring that financial decisions are clearly linked to the school\'s strategic aims and development plan.
* Manage premises and capital aspects, ideally with school experience but not essential.
* Provide strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work, remaining calm under pressure and adapting to changing priorities.
* Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and lead a team.
* Attend meetings related to the role of SBM after school hours, in person and remotely.
* Understand and commit to safeguarding, health and safety, and promoting the welfare and educational outcomes of children.
Qualifications and Skills
* Educated to degree level and hold a recognised CCAB Accountancy Qualification and/or a qualification in School Financial and Operational Leadership.
* Sound business knowledge, including premises and capital management.
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
* Good communication and written skills.
* Ability to motivate and lead a team.
