Job Summary The role is to provide live-in care with a second live-in carer to support a high level spinal cord injured female. Level C5/C6, paralysed from the shoulders down. The rota will be 2 weeks on/off. Duties Assist client with daily bowel management using suppositories, digital and manual evacuation, showering and personal care Knowledge of autonomic dysrelexia Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements Support clients with mobility challenges through safe transfer and positioning techniques Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment Drive clients to appointments or errands as required, ensuring safe transportation Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive case management and coordinate care services Skills Proven experience in nursing and high complex care Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures First aid certification is highly desirable Strong understanding of cross infection control and prevention Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or equipment handling Compassionate demeanour with exceptional caregiving skills Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment Valid driving licence for transportation duties if applicable This role is suitable for caring individuals committed to providing high-quality patient care within a supportive team environment.
