Reporting to the People Data Lead, the People Data Analyst will support the wider People team with scheduled and ad-hoc reporting, analytics and meaningful insights to inform and enhance the People Strategy.Furthermore, the People Data Analyst will focus on identifying trends and issues, conducting or recommending further investigations into the people data and providing information to enable HR leads to make relevant informed recommendations to their stakeholders and senior leaders. The People Data Analyst will also support in the research and investigation of alternative tools and techniques for data analysis; and seeking out new sources of data to enhance the People data offering. Accountabilities Provide accurate People data management to support the people strategy delivery, through the provision of BAU and Ad-hoc People data requests quickly and effectively. Work closely with colleagues within the People function to develop suitable tools, dashboards & standard reports and continually look to improve their capabilities, content & quality. Review existing People dashboards to ensure they are complete and accurate and follow up with individual areas where there are discrepancies or any need for clarification. Gather and summarise data for statutory reports, and internal committees and validate the accuracy of the information. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their People data requirements and provide usable data solutions based on findings. Work alongside IT to identify People data opportunities across multiple people systems. Auditing and peer checking colleagues' system input, feeding back any trends or issues to assist in training and furthering knowledge within the team. Supporting the data requirements across People projects including organisational design work, recruitment metrics, talent management and succession planning. Adhoc reports for People teams and wider business as and when requested. Person Specification (role experience / skills and qualifications) Expert user of MS Excel (including designing tools & dashboards for end-users; vigorous Look Ups applications to build datasets from multiple system extracts; advanced formula applications such as If, And & Or statements & nested formulas; pivot tables; conditional formatting Have an analytical approach, challenging and questioning data and information presented. Strong preference for working with numbers, systems and information Comfortable in presenting information, in a clear and engaging way, to a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to work at pace, operating within tight deadlines and managing several conflicting priorities activities at one time. Organised, methodical and comfortable liaising with colleagues to obtain and verify data provided. Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships across the business.
