Who You Are You are a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) with a Social Work Degree or equivalent, registered with HCPC, and ideally holding a Practice Educator Qualification or willingness to undertake it. With a sound understanding of the local and national policy and legislative contexts of adult social care, you are ready to make a difference by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Your approach is proactive, supportive, and driven by a passion to improve outcomes for residents with complex mental health needs. What the Job Involves As an AMHP, you will be responsible for undertaking Mental Health Act assessments on behalf of Hillingdon Council. You'll coordinate support plans that maximize choice, control, and independence for individuals with complex care needs. Your role involves operational delivery within a 24-hour rolling rota, providing expert advice and professional leadership, including supporting AMHP trainees and participating in team planning and service improvement initiatives. You'll be required to chair meetings, produce court reports, and ensure alignment with public safety and legislative standards.
