What you will do: - Deliver an efficient service to children, young people, and foster carers, ensuring their needs are fulfilled. - Provide expert consultation on emotional, behavioural, and mental health issues, enhancing colleagues' skills within children's services. - Lead the implementation of support plans for young people scoring highly on the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire SDQ, reviewing the impact of interventions. - Support the ongoing development of foster carers through training and support forums, guiding them in delivering trauma-informed care. - Work closely and in partnership with other services to provide a children's emotional health and wellbeing service to Looked After Children by Southend. - Investigate, evaluate, and analyse case information with clarity, ensuring assessments and action plans are thorough and realistic. - Ensure all casework and foster care services comply with statutory requirements and the council’s Policies and Procedures. - Participate in panels, conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required, presenting the Council plans with professionalism. - Prepare and submit detailed reports as the Senior Mental Health Worker, maintaining case records using ICT as required. - Collaborate with other agencies and organisations to support the care plans and work of foster carers. - Maintain the Team Manager's awareness of workload challenges, seeking guidance as necessary. - Promote Equal Opportunities and Diversity best practices in all working aspects. - Perform any other necessary duties within the Fostering Service. Requirements of this Advanced Practitioner role: - Social Work England registered with a relevant Social Work Qualification or equivalent. - Solid understanding of relevant legislation. - Eligibility for registration.
