Occupational Therapist – NHS Tayside
Overview
With a BSc in Occupational Therapy and a proven record of continuing professional development and post‑qualification experience, you will play a key leadership role in the psychiatry of old age service in Angus. The band 7 position has been created to provide organisational leadership and support the development of the Occupational Therapy team.
We work across inpatient and community mental health teams and are committed to a shared model of care that includes comprehensive assessment and treatment of older adults experiencing mental illness.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support OT staff across inpatient and community settings.
* Provide clinical governance and assurance processes for Occupational Therapy in Psychiatry of Old Age.
* Participate in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of older adults with mental illness.
* Contribute to the development of the OT team through mentoring and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified BSc (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Extensive post‑qualification experience, including with older people with functional and organic mental health problems.
* Experience working in a psychiatric or older adult setting is desirable.
Working Hours & Contract
Hours: 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Fixed‑term/secondment for 12 months. The working week will reduce to 36 hours per week in April 2026 with no change in full‑time pay.
