Overview
To provide technical support to all areas relating to IT Network Infrastructure. The post holder will support the IT Network Infrastructure in providing technical input for the implementation and support of all network equipment and systems within the remit of IT Infrastructure. The post holder will work together with colleagues and users in NHSL and other external agencies to provide technical support for all network hardware and software.

What you’ll need to bring
The post holder will be educated to or operating at degree level in a relevant IT discipline and have experience in a desktop related support role within an Information Technology Department. In addition, the post holder should preferably have additional technical training and certification in relevant technical skills and products. The post holder should preferably have experience in a health service environment. The post holder may be required to participate in the eHealth on-call support service which provides first line support for 24/7 IT systems in NHSL.
The post requires an individual who can demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge in the following areas:
* MS Windows Operating Systems
* MS TCP/IP networking protocols and management
* MS Office
* Remote desktop support software
* Desktop Management suites
* Security backup applications
* PC hardware diagnostic tools
* Basic network fault diagnostic tools
The post requires an individual who can demonstrate the following skills:

* Strong documentation skills

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have:
* Proven track record in the support of TCP/IP networks and MS Windows Operating systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
* Experience in GP systems Vision, Emis, Docman
* Detailed knowledge in the use and support techniques required to manage Networking products that include Cisco and Fortinet Systems.
* Ability to use own initiative to achieve targets set by the IT Service Desk or IT Management
* Ability to work under pressure and to fixed time scales
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
* Ability to consistently ensure IT Service Desk calls are resolved within fixed service level agreements

Location and Working Pattern: This role will be based in within eHealth - Digital Operations at Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.
