The Receptionist will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support to patients attending Outpatient Clinics. This includes greeting patients, recording attendance and clinical outcomes on the PARIS system, and managing appointment bookings to facilitate future visits. The role requires maintaining confidentiality, ensuring efficient patient service, and managing clinic administration functions on PARIS. The post holder will interact with the general public, nursing staff, medical staff, and other administrative personnel. They will ensure all reception processes are completed accurately and promptly to deliver a high-quality service. Key responsibilities include:
1. Checking and updating patient demographic details on PARIS.
2. Managing appointment bookings and non-attendance processes.
3. Handling telephone inquiries from staff and departments.
4. Maintaining the tidiness of the reception area.
5. Communicating effectively with patients and staff, respecting confidentiality and data protection policies.
6. Supporting communication within departments and with service users, including non-English speakers and hearing-impaired individuals.
7. Developing good working relationships with all service users.
8. Providing non-clinical advice regarding appointments and services.
9. Assisting in maintaining departmental performance by ensuring data quality standards are met.
10. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to adapt to service demands.
11. Supporting health and safety protocols and reporting incidents.
12. Working independently within Trust policies and procedures.
