We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a well-established on-site engineering team, ensuring the reliable operation of all mechanical systems across a dynamic corporate environment. As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and building services systems. Working within a fast-paced, client-facing environment, you’ll ensure all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities: Carry out daily PPM and reactive maintenance on all mechanical plant and equipment. Diagnose and rectify faults across HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and other building services. Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and RAMS documentation. Support the delivery of a high standard of service to clients and attend regular site meetings. Undertake maintenance and repair on: Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems Pumps, motors, pressurisation units, and expansion vessels Chillers, boilers, and heat exchangers Hot and cold water systems, plumbing, and drainage Assist with BMS monitoring, trend analysis, and fault diagnosis. Conduct minor fabric and basic electrical support tasks as required. Respond to emergency callouts and ensure issues are resolved promptly and effectively.Candidate Requirements: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services. Experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical plant maintenance. Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a commercial building services environment. Sound knowledge of building systems and relevant compliance standards. Strong communication and client interaction skills.
