Clinical Nurse Specialist – Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Position: Clinical Nurse Specialist (32 hours, Band 6). Closing date: 09 June 2026.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage own workload, complete injection clinics (once fully trained) and ensure patients receive required follow up appointments.
* Coordinate clinics, scrub and assist with Intravitreal Injection procedures.
* Act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the Multi‑Professional team, patients and carers within the specialty service.
* Operate within the macular team and undergo full training to perform Intravitreal Injections.
* Expand knowledge and skills in administering Intravitreal Injections and reviewing OCT scans (LogMAR, IOP, etc.).
Working hours: 8 am – 6 pm, any four days between Monday and Friday.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse / Midwife / AHP.
* Post‑basic specialist qualification relevant to the speciality.
* Foundation of Ophthalmic Nursing Practice and Advanced Ophthalmic Nursing Practice qualifications (or ongoing).
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* ECDL.
Experience
* Extensive clinical experience in a high‑volume healthcare environment.
* Experience in an ophthalmic setting.
* Participation in research.
* Evidence of leading and facilitating change.

* Organisation and negotiation skills.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
