As a Technical Services Specialist you will be part of a team providing expert technical support and guidance throughout a project lifecycle – from specification and procurement to installation, testing and commissioning. This role ensures that products sold across GB&I are technically sound and suitable for their application, ensuring satisfaction of our customers enable repeat business.
VELUX Commercial (VC) is a new division in the VELUX Group, established in 2019 and comprises the former JET, Vitral, VELUX Modular Skylights and COXDOME organisations. Today, VELUX Commercial operates as one company with more than 1100 people in 13 countries and offers to support building professionals throughout the entire process from specification to delivery and maintenance of daylight and ventilation solutions for industrial, commercial, and public buildings.

In this role, you will join our VELUX Commercial Technical team in GB&I, which is dedicated to putting the needs of our customers first. As Technical Services Specialist, you will be responsible for creating opportunities for the use of VELUX Commercial product in design solutions and promoting the essential use of daylight and fresh air to support healthy indoor environments.
What You Will be Doing :
* Support designers and specifiers in understanding the relevance and application of daylight and fresh air to create healthy indoor environments.
* Produce architectural drawings and visuals using appropriate CAD software.
* Create design solutions for presentation back to designers / specifiers and customers.
* Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams, external partners, and customers, addressing technical enquiries, troubleshooting issues, and delivering comprehensive solutions.
* Create effective Daylight Visualizations
* Assist in raising VC full product portfolio awareness by conducting training sessions for internal teams and external partners on product usage and best practices.
* Enhance, implement and maintain our technical knowledgebase aligning with our overall product strategy and business goals.
* Develop technical documentation and training materials to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers and internal stakeholders.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and certifications related to our products, ensuring compliance and supporting product certifications.
* Monitor market potential and identify technical opportunities to support growth objectives.
* Carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably requested in relation to your role.
Essential Criteria
Education to ‘GCSE’ level (or equivalent) standard or higher
HND / HNC (or equivalent) in building studies or engineering – architectural technology bias preferred
Training in Autodesk AutoCAD software
At least three full years’ experience in a similar design office environment
Good working knowledge of construction principles
Good working knowledge of the Building Regulations & Planning procedures
Good knowledge of building design standards and legislation
Desirable Criteria
Education to ‘A’ level (or equivalent) standard or higher
Architectural Technology Honours Degree (or equivalent)
Other appropriate architectural / design qualification
Training in Autodesk Revit software
Full UK driving license
Passport
