The role
As a Project Manager - Construction, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction programmes within our nuclear and marine environments. This is an exciting role where your leadership directly influences safety, quality, and performance across major infrastructure projects that underpin defence capability and energy security.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
1. Leading integrated project teams to deliver complex, safety‑critical construction and engineering projects
2. Planning and controlling project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change across the full project lifecycle
3. Owning customer and stakeholder relationships as the primary point of contact
4. Managing project finances, resources, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
5. Providing clear leadership, assurance, coaching, and escalation to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Manager - Construction
6. Demonstrable experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects in regulated environments
7. Strong capability across core project management disciplines including planning, cost, risk, and change control
8. Full lifecycle project delivery experience from initiation to close‑out
9. Experience working with construction or engineering contracts (experience with NEC contracts is advantageous)
10. Experience within marine, nuclear, or large‑scale construction environments would be beneficial
Qualifications for the Project Manager - Construction
11. A relevant degree or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, surveying, or a related discipline
12. Project Management certification or professional qualification (such as PMQ or equivalent) is desirable
13. Membership of a relevant professional body (for example the Chartered Institute of Building) is advantageous

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
