Powertrain Systems Engineer Sensors & Gas Path (Contract) We are recruiting a Powertrain Systems Engineer (PTSE) to support the design, development and release of fuel and evaporative emissions systems for a major automotive OEM programme. This role is suited to an engineer with hands-on fuel system hardware experience who has owned components through design, validation and launch, working closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Lead design, development and release of powertrain fuel system components Ownership of Fuel Tank, Fuel Filler, Filler Pipe, Filler Hose, Fuel Cap, Fuel Delivery Module (FDM), Charcoal Canister, EVAP lines and Leak Detection Systems Apply Failure Mode Avoidance, FMEA / FMA, 8D problem solving and root cause analysis Support APQP, EBER and launch activities Systems engineering activities including requirements management, integration and verification Manage suppliers and support cost, quality and timing targets Essential Experience Automotive Powertrain / Fuel Systems Engineering Design and release of fuel or EVAP hardware components Strong understanding of EVAP systems and emissions Experience with FMEA, 8D, warranty or failure investigation Background in OEM or Tier 1 automotive environments Desirable Systems engineering methodologies APQP / launch experience Supplier management exposure This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile vehicle programmes, gaining exposure to OEM engineering standards and complex powertrain systems.
