MoveATech is recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist to join a specialist barrel manufacturing facility in Portsmouth. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with a strong background in both CNC and manual lathe and milling operations, working in a precision engineering environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality precision barrels using a combination of CNC and manual machining methods. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong technical understanding, and the ability to work to tight tolerances while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC and manual lathes to manufacture precision barrels

Work within a machine shop environment in line with health and safety and quality requirements
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
*
Use a range of precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy
*
Manage daily machining tasks to support efficient production workflows
Essential Skills and Experience
*
Proven experience in CNC and manual lathe machining
*
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
*
Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment
*
Experience with Fanuc CNC controls
Desirable Experience
*
Experience with XYZ Prototrack controls
*
Experience with Heidenhain controls
