Key responsibilities for Deputy Head of Crime role: Support the Head of the Leeds Office in managing and supervising the Leeds Crime team. Help allocate and manage workloads to ensure cases progress efficiently. Review files regularly to ensure compliance with LAA requirements, SRA standards, and firm policies. Provide practical casework support and guidance, including on complex or sensitive matters. Mentor and support junior staff, including paralegals, trainees, and newly qualified solicitors. Assist with team training and development. Support quality assurance through performance monitoring and addressing skills gaps. Assist with compliance tasks such as billing, file management, and case closure. Act as a senior point of contact when the Head of the Leeds Office is absent.
