Salary: £32,000 - 38,000 per year Requirements: Possess a valid UK drivers license and clean driving record Relevant certifications or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field may be advantageous Hydraulic or mechanical qualification preferred but not essential Mechanical engineering experience: 3 years preferred but not essential Hydraulic experience: 3 years preferred but not essential Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in mobile repair or field service technician positions Exceptional knowledge of the UK fluid power industry and strong connections in the UK manufacturing industry IOSHH Managing Safely (or equivalent) or other industry-relevant health & safety technical training Responsibilities: Conduct on-site inspections of hydraulic hoses and systems to identify issues and recommend solutions Perform on-the-spot repairs or replacements of damaged or malfunctioning hoses Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify faults, and implement effective solutions promptly to minimize downtime Collaborate with maintenance teams to provide technical expertise and support Maintain accurate records of hose inspections, repairs, and replacements Ensure that all necessary safety documentation and risk assessments for all jobs are submitted accurately and efficiently Report all near misses and potential hazards Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while working on-site Provide professional onsite hose replacement and hydraulic service Actively promote our services and products, build and maintain relationships with customers Seek new opportunities and customers to ensure continual fiscal performance and growth of your area Maintain high levels of health and safety practices including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment Manage a mobile service vehicle, including regular stock takes, routine maintenance, and documentation Manage inventory levels of spare parts and consumables for timely repairs and installations Attend training courses as requested by management Assist at any branch or manufacturing facility when required Provide excellent customer service during site visits and breakdown jobs Address customer inquiries or concerns in a timely and respectful manner Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to existing equipment Provide training and technical support to clients or end-users on equipment use and maintenance Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in different environments Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws Plan efficient routes and navigate to minimize delays Handle goods carefully during loading, transport, and unloading Ensure products are properly secured and organized in the vehicle Comply with company policies, procedures, and local regulations regarding transportation Adhere to vehicle weight limits and hours of service regulations Comply with company health and safety policies and procedures Technologies: Support Mobile More: At Hyphose, we are proud to be the leading supplier of hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial hose products in the south of England for over 40 years.
