The District Nursing Service in East Lancashire is currently recruiting into the Night Nursing (Out of Hours) Team.
The post holder will provide high-quality nursing care to patients within the community setting. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care across East Lancashire overnight to support our 24-hour nursing service. Successful applicants will be trained to work effectively in the night nursing team; rotation into day teams can be considered, with initial training during the day.
The post holder must demonstrate professional standards of practice, personal qualities, and behaviors as per the NMC Code, and be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. They should be capable of problem-solving, adapting to change, knowing when to seek support, and ensuring the delivery of safe, personal, and effective care. We seek nurses committed to evidence-based practice and eager to develop a career in District Nursing.
Desirable qualifications include a 12-month Post-Reg experience.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
The post involves assisting the Clinical Team Leader/Team Sister in coordinating and delivering care aligned with the District Nursing Strategy, both nationally and locally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Visiting several patients daily in their homes.
2. Providing high-quality nursing care to patients with diverse healthcare needs.
3. Conducting holistic assessments and care planning.
4. Managing wounds, promoting health, managing medicines, and end-of-life care.
5. Working rotational hours across day and night shifts as required by service needs.
