About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Leyland. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of tenders and works opportunities and the compilation of all ‘in contract’ quotations. You will also provide support to the commercial teams for secured works, manage your own workload, liaise with operational teams, foster excellent working relationships internally and externally, maximise all potential business leads and support growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess tender/quotation conditions upon receipt and identify any risk.
* Provide tender handover packs demonstrating strategy at tender stage on all successful bids.
* Account Management of a diverse and often time critical customer base.
* Review unsuccessful tenders and analyse and implement an improvement strategy for future bids.
* Understanding and engaging with colleagues’ remit/workloads for holiday cover.
* Ensure delivery and communication of a quality ‘end‑to‑end’ process for the customer.
* Assist the commercial team on compensation events build‑ups.
* Attend pre‑tender meetings/events.
* Carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager.
Requirements
You approach your work with logic, accuracy, and a methodical mindset. You possess strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills, thrive both when working independently using your own initiative and as a collaborative member of a close-knit team.

* Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office suite of software and the ability to work with other business management systems.
* Ability to network and create new business relationships.
* Essential interpersonal skills to interface successfully with a wide range of people both within and outside the company.
* Attention to detail and ability to think laterally and problem solve.
* Prioritise workload and demonstrate customer engagement.
* Excellent geographical and numerical skills.
* Ability to collate and reconcile information for monthly reporting.
* Ability to recognise and capitalise on digital services opportunities.

* Highly motivated individual.
* Right to work in the UK unsponsored.
* Full UK driving licence as travel is a requirement of this role.
What Else Looks Good
* NHSS 12a,b,c or d qualifications.
* Highways Permitting experience.
* Understanding of digital services and product deployment.
* Previous experience of the traffic management industry either practical TM experience or experience of working in the highway maintenance sector.
* Other formal commercial or business management qualifications.
