️ Qualified Social Worker – Adults Learning Disabilities West Yorkshire
£30 per hour (agency role)
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities? We’re looking for an experienced practitioner to join a forward-thinking and supportive Adults Learning Disabilities Team in West Yorkshire.

About the Role
As a Qualified Social Worker, you’ll be working with adults with learning disabilities to promote independence, improve quality of life, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
You will:
1. Carry out strengths-based Care Act assessments
2. Develop and review person-centred support plans
3. Apply knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding Adults procedures
4. Work closely with families, carers, health professionals, and other agencies
5. Promote independence, inclusion, and dignity
6. Ensure positive, long-term outcomes through evidence-based practice
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and experienced professional who brings empathy, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality social work.
You must have:
7. A degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
8. Registration with Social Work England
9. A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience, ideally in adult services
10. Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or complex needs
11. Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
12. The ability to build meaningful relationships with individuals, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
13. Excellent communication, assessment, and care planning skills
14. A reflective, flexible, and person-centred approach to practice
Key Responsibilities
15. Conduct person-centred assessments and support planning
16. Manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate records
17. Undertake safeguarding enquiries where necessary
18. Promote independence and community engagement
19. Offer advice and guidance to service users, carers, and colleagues
20. Support the professional development of junior staff and students (where required)
