Our group includes 10 coffee shops, 1 farm shop, a cookery school, a wholesale bakery & kitchen, and two pubs/restaurants, including the Crown & Garter and the Hartley Arms. Hours and Shifts: 2 x positions availble Saturday: 11am - 3pm Sunday: 6pm - 10pm We are looking for a part-time Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join our team at our Wokingham site. This is a hands-on role in a busy kitchen environment where you will be responsible for preparing simple, high-quality dishes and maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards. What You’ll Do: Assist with the preparation of food throughout the day including smoothie bowls, porridge, granola bowls, pancakes (batter already provided read to use), egg dishes (simple scrambled, fried or poached) soups, focaccia, toasted sandwiches, and savoury pastries. Simple food, most pre made at our Bakery site, delivered fresh every day. Use a Merrychef oven and other kitchen equipment for reheating and assembling dishes safely and efficiently. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times. Ensure proper food handling and hygiene practices in line with health and safety regulations. Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and general kitchen duties as required. Work calmly and collaboratively during busy periods. What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential – training will be provided). Ability to follow simple recipes (which is mostly prepared at our bakery) and instructions with care and consistency. Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Flexibility to work on a rota including weekends and some bank holidays. Ability to commute reliably to the Wokingham location – driving licence preferred due to limited public transport.
