Rangers Football Club is seeking a forward-thinking Insights Manager to guide decisions with clear evidence and analysis across commercial, communications & marketing, and wider business planning. As part of the Chief of Staff function, you will ensure key stakeholders across the club have the insight needed to make evidence-based decisions. You will lead our approach to market and fan research, internal reporting, and impact measurement with the goal of strengthening our connection with fans and commercial partners and making more informed decisions. The Insights Manager will work closely with the Communications & Marketing, Commercial and People & Culture teams, helping to design and roll-out research projects and analysing the results of these to develop actionable insights. The candidate Insights Manager will also deliver data-driven insights to support executive decision making across the club, working closely with the Chief of Staff on a project basis. This role is a key part of the club’s growing commitment to utilising and understanding data, and the chosen candidate will have significant scope to support senior leaders across the club.
Key Responsibilities
* Communications & Marketing support: capture views and feedback from supporters to help the club better understand its fanbase; turn fan data and feedback into actionable insight for the Communications & Marketing department; become the go-to expert for all fan-related data and trends — from survey analysis and ticketing behaviour to media consumption and international fan growth; utilise fan research to inform strategic decisions across ticketing, communications, membership, and matchday operations; oversee and analyse key fan datasets including Rangers MyGers data, CRM, social media, digital analytics, and broadcast metrics; develop strategic documents to support Communications & Marketing team decision making.
* Commercial support: use information from inside and outside the club to make a strong case for ideas and revenue generating opportunities; support the club’s marketing intelligence efforts in support of sponsorship acquisition and retention; identify growth opportunities for both the club’s sponsorship portfolios; support the development of enhanced retail partnership reporting and insights; develop strategic documents to support commercial team decision making.
* People & culture support: work with the People & Culture team to design enhanced staff surveys; support the analysis of survey results and turning data into actionable insight for the People & Culture department.
* Club-wide reporting: support the development of strategy implementation reports, including board-level KPI and insights reports; support efforts to evaluate the club’s social value and report on outcomes for key stakeholders; support the development of robust case studies combining data and stories to evidence the Club’s impact on and off the pitch; work closely with all departments to collect and continually analyse sensitive data; always look for ways to improve how you, your team, and the club work; contribute to the delivery and ongoing management of a successful club strategy.
The Candidate
The candidate attributes include:
* Strong academic background with a minimum bachelor-level degree, with a preference in analytical focused subjects or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* 2+ years of industry experience, with preference for analytical topics or an analytical role within a major commercial / sports entity.
* Proven ability to transform complex, large datasets into actionable, management-level insights.
* Ability to identify areas of opportunity for the club in a structured way.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills: able to work across departments and influence senior decision-makers.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to a range of audiences.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Knowledge of CRM platforms and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI).
* Experience managing multiple workstreams and deliverables to deadlines.
* Takes ownership of work with integrity and purpose, bringing a collaborative, proactive mindset that values high performance, continuous improvement, and inclusivity.
