We’re looking for a creative, patient, and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to help enrich the daily lives of residents living with dementia. In this role, you’ll design and deliver meaningful activities that support wellbeing, spark joy, and create moments of connection. Your work helps residents feel valued, stimulated, and part of a vibrant community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver a varied programme of activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
2. Support residents to take part in group sessions and one‑to‑one activities
3. Encourage engagement through reminiscence, arts and crafts, gentle exercise, sensory experiences, and social events
4. Work closely with care staff to understand residents’ needs, preferences, and life histories
5. Record participation and feedback to help shape future activities
6. Help organise celebrations, themed days, and family‑friendly events
7. Create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where residents feel safe and supported
8. Adapt activities sensitively for individuals experiencing memory loss, confusion, or anxiety
What We’re Looking For:
9. Kind, patient, and confident engaging with people living with dementia
10. Creative thinker with the ability to plan enjoyable and meaningful activities
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Ability to motivate, encourage, and build trust with residents
13. Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
