We’re looking for experienced Welding Inspectors / Field Engineers to join a high-performing Quality Surveillance team on site in Somerset.
If you’ve worked on major projects across Energy, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Pharma, Water, or Industrial Construction — and understand welding from a metallurgy, NDT and standards perspective — this is your opportunity to step into a truly safety-critical engineering environment.
As a Field Engineer – Welding Inspector, you will:
* Carry out continuous, planned and notified surveillance of contractor activities
* Ensure works align with Quality Control Plans and project specifications
* Identify, raise and manage non-conformances (NCRs)
* Review ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation
* Drive quality improvements and KPI performance
* Ensure strict adherence to design and approval processes (no informal field decisions)
* Champion and embed nuclear safety culture on site
* Collaborate with construction, engineering and quality teams
💡 You’ll act as the technical conscience of welding quality across the project.
What You’ll Be Working On
* Mechanical & civil interfaces
* Safety-critical fabrication environments
👉 Spot issues early. Ask the right questions. Protect quality before problems arise.
We’re keen to speak with professionals who have:
* Proven experience in welding inspection on major infrastructure / industrial projects
* Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy and NDT methods
* Knowledge of industry codes such as RCC-M, ASME, BS EN
* Experience with ITPs, quality records and compliance documentation
* Background working in highly regulated / safety-critical environments
Qualifications
* PCN / NDT certifications – beneficial
* Mechanical / Materials / Welding background
