We are presently seeking a qualified Service Engineer to join our professional team. In response to anticipated growth and expansion, there may be a requirement for assignments throughout Europe. This challenging and varied role encompasses travel and periods working away from home; a company vehicle and appropriate accommodation will be provided.
Knowledge of process plant operations would be beneficial, as would demonstrable experience working with some or all of the following: rotating machinery, pumps, decanter centrifuges, belt presses, and filter presses, although comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, computer literate, confident, and reliable, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Person Specification
1. Field Service Engineer, professional and organised, having completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent formal training programme.
2. Familiar with industrial installation and control systems.
3. Competent in conducting basic fault diagnosis in control panels (electrical qualifications advantageous).
4. Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
5. Familiar with PLC/Microprocessor control systems and Star/Delta or inverter motor drive technologies up to kW.
6. Process experience within the water/wastewater or process/manufacturing sectors.
7. Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and participation in an on-call rota (currently 2 in every 10 weeks).
8. Customer-focused professional, capable of communicating effectively at all levels and establishing trust and credibility with clients.
9. Computer and general literacy; proficient in preparing service and visit reports using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
10. Full, clean UK driving licence essential.
Key Responsibilities
11. Installation, operation, and maintenance of our range of mobile processing equipment.
12. Execution of service contracts for customers' installed plant.
13. Addressing mechanical breakdowns and conducting workshop repairs as required.
14. Extensive travel, predominantly UK-based with occasional international assignments.
15. Servicing and installation of equipment at the SludgeTEK workshop facility.
16. Supporting the sales department during customer visits.
17. Supervision and training of subcontracted personnel.
18. Preparation of risk assessments and method statements prior to undertaking service assignments.
19. Participation in call-out rota and occasional weekend working.
