Exciting Opportunity: CYP Team Leader
Our Team Leaders at Change Grow Live play an integral role in ensuring effective service provision for young people by creating a focused culture, engaging staff to provide innovative and continually improving services, and providing leadership, support, and development to a wide range of staff.
Positive Futures Gateshead is a dynamic and innovative under-25 service within Gateshead. We support young people and adults up to age 25 regarding substance use. We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join us! With the support of the Service Manager, you will lead the delivery of services that empower children, young people, and their families across Gateshead to overcome issues related to substance misuse. You will provide line management to practitioners within the service.
Location: Gateshead
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range: £35,220.59 - £37,184.91 (dependent on experience, pro-rata for part-time)
Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2027
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, salary and payments are pro-rata based on contracted hours.
About the Role:
* Lead the delivery of services that empower children, young people, and their families to overcome substance misuse issues.
* Provide line management to practitioners and oversee operational management and strategic development.
* Maintain high professional standards and ensure a young person-focused approach to reduce harm and promote resilience.
* Create a professional, young person-centered team culture focused on excellent service delivery.
* Support the development and continuous improvement of service delivery.
* Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external partners.
* Must have a valid UK Driving License and access to a car to work flexibly at various sites.
About You:
* Experience working with children and young people facing substance misuse difficulties.
* Knowledge of issues affecting children, young people, and their families related to substance misuse.
* Understanding of drugs and alcohol and their effects.
* Line management experience, including delivering reflective practice.
* Ability to lead, empower, and motivate a team.
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices.
* Ability to foster and maintain positive partnerships with agencies.
* Knowledge of psychosocial and evidence-based interventions for substance misuse.
* Understanding of the ‘Hidden Harm’ agenda.
* Experience with community-based support and outreach practices.
* Effective record-keeping, outcome monitoring, and data collection skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to respond flexibly and stay calm under pressure.
* Commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for young people and families.
