Joining the retail team as a Relief Shop Manager means becoming part of a large, dedicated retail operation that plays a crucial role in supporting the work of Ashgate Hospice. The hospice’s retail network is not just about selling donated goods; it is a vital source of income that directly helps fund the compassionate care provided to people across North Derbyshire who are living with life-limiting or incurable illnesses.

The retail team manages an extensive and diverse operation that includes 15 high street shops, a furniture warehouse, a donation centre, two clearance shops, and two coffee shops. In addition to these physical locations, the team also runs two eBay platforms for clothing and general goods as well as an online furniture store, helping to maximise the value of donated items and reach a wider audience of supporters. As a Relief Shop Manager, you will support different locations when needed, helping ensure each shop operates smoothly, maintains excellent customer service, and continues to generate the income that sustains hospice services.

Key responsibilities:

* Provide management cover for vacancies, planned and unplanned absence or additional support within any of the Ashgate Hospice shops or retail locations, as required. ·
* Assist in achieving shop income and expenditure targets. ·
* Assist in achieving shop gift aid targets, maintaining compliance protocol. ·

About Ashgate:

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions. Last year, we cared for over 2,400 people. Our aim is to support our patients by keeping them informed, managing their symptoms, and improving their quality of life from diagnosis onwards.

We also provide vital support to the people who are important to them, offering practical assistance and emotional support, including bereavement services.
