Job Description:
The role
We’re hiring a Tool Room Engineer to carry out repairs, modifications and continuous improvement on extrusion tooling within a busy manufacturing workshop. You’ll interpret engineering drawings, operate a range of workshop machinery and play a key part in maintaining quality, safety and uptime across the tool room.
Key responsibilities
* Interpret engineering drawings to repair and modify extrusion tooling.
* Operate workshop machinery including CNC wire EDM/eroders, laser welder, vertical milling machines, centre lathe and surface grinders.
* Complete tasks efficiently to plan, with close attention to detail and quality.
* Work safely at all times and maintain excellent housekeeping standards in and around machines.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the workshop; contribute ideas to improve tools, processes and ways of working.
* Follow written and verbal instructions; update records and communicate progress as required.
About you
* Level 3 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent).
* Time-served apprenticeship (preferred).
* Experience with CNC wire erosion and laser welding (preferred).
* Good numeracy, literacy and PC skills.
* Practical engineering aptitude with strong attention to detail; able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Punctual, adaptable and motivated, with a tidy, methodical approach to work.
