Senior Data Engineer I
As a Senior Data Engineer I, you will be responsible for creating a secure, scalable, and well-connected data infrastructure. You will build deep domain knowledge of our business and manage complex data flows across teams, data centers, and organizational boundaries worldwide. This data is crucial for storytelling and decision-making for AIS colleagues and customers, requiring reliable and cost-effective curation approaches.
Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain a modern data orchestration and transformation architecture supporting batch and streaming processes.
* Ensure reliable delivery of clean, accurate data for analytics and sharing services.
* Develop and enforce technical and coding standards to mature SDLC practices.
* Collaborate with DevOps to automate deployments and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Create modular components and reusable frameworks for easy contribution and deployment.
* Document and promote best practices, establishing guidelines with stakeholders and sharing knowledge across teams.
* Improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability through enhanced logging, monitoring, and observability.
* Support platform evolution and data governance by identifying gaps, implementing tooling, and promoting DataOps initiatives.
Requirements:
* Experience deploying and governing modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, Fivetran, Airbyte, Tableau, Sisense, AWS, GitHub, Terraform, Docker) at an enterprise scale.
* Ability to develop reusable ETL/ELT solutions using Python, advanced SQL, and Jinja.
* Understanding of SDLC best practices and contribution to DataOps and DevOps maturity.
* Active participation in Agile methodologies and ceremonies.
* Thought leadership in data platform solutions, including proposal development and change management.
* Design of technical solutions with comprehensive documentation for scalable, secure data platforms.
* Expertise in AWS data and analytics services, including cloud solutions and cost optimization.
* Strong governance skills ensuring compliance with data management, privacy, and security standards, with cross-functional collaboration.
