Job Description
Job Purpose
To assist with the routine operation of Enlighten, the University’s institutional repository, specifically in relation to: Enlighten:Publications, Enlighten:Theses, and Enlighten:Dissertations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assign appropriate metadata to deposited materials using specialist knowledge and conventions.
* Check deposited materials for compliance with publisher requirements, licensing, copyright law, and funder/REF requirements.
* Participate in training workshops for staff depositing materials.
* Assist with promoting the repository internally and externally, including presentations, events, and web pages.
* Perform quality checks and data cleansing, reporting issues to the Enlighten Team Leader.
* Liaise with team leader and repository manager to identify development needs.
* Undertake other duties within Library Services as required.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential
* Ability to demonstrate relevant competencies or equivalent qualifications (Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 5 or 6).
* Excellent IT skills, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and under pressure.
Desirable
* Knowledge of Open Access issues in the UK.
* Knowledge of repository management, scholarly communication.
* Presentation skills.
Experience
* Relevant recent work experience or evidence of development in a similar role.
* Experience in customer-focused and team environments.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: Grade 4, £23,881 - £26,338 per annum. Full-time, open-ended position. Closing date: 23:45.
