Job Description

An excellent and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experience and ambitious Quality Controller, to join our team at our Evesham Depot in Worcestershire.


Job Role

* Inspect incoming shipments of fruit & vegetables for freshness, damage, grade, and compliance with specifications, completing QC reports.
* Monitor warehouse inventory, conducting routine checks to prevent spoilage and ensure proper storage categorisation.
* Oversee outgoing orders, verifying quality prior to dispatch.
* Manage quarantine procedures and hold non‑conforming goods.
* Maintain detailed documentation for inspections, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
* Collaborate with warehouse staff to resolve quality issues, provide guidance, and support continuous improvement.
* Support internal/external audits and uphold GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.


Skills & Experience Required

* At least 1 year experience in produce inspection, quality, or food/warehouse environments.
* Familiar with fresh produce standards, ideally with grading or labelling knowledge.
* Proficient in computer skills and record-keeping.
* Attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and strong communication skills.
* Ability to work in varied warehouse environments (cold, humidity).

* Maintain good working relations with a wide range of contacts both internal and external to the business.
* Able to work as part of a designated team and supportive to other team members including willingness to cover duties in times of absence and holidays.
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Able to work unsupervised and under own initiative.
* Complete jobs in a timely manner.
* High-level accuracy and attention to detail.
* Professional representation of the company through responsible driving and appearance.
* Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Able to communicate effectively.
* Flexible, positive and outgoing approach to work.
* The ability to work as part of a busy team and communicate effectively and the ability to work on their own initiative.
* Be contactable at all times during working hours.
* Follow and adhere to all parts of the staff handbook.

Duties may change from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of the company. You will be expected to carry such duties out as normal. If there is any significant change, this will be discussed and agreed with you and may be included in a revised edition of the Job Description; otherwise, more minor changes may be discussed with you at the time of your performance review. If there are any other changes to employment terms and conditions, such as changes to pay or hours, then these will be notified in writing.

* Employment type: Full Time – Monday – Sunday.
