We are looking to recruit a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive primary care team. This is a part‑time position for 25 hours per week.
We welcome applications from both experienced Practice Nurses and newly qualified nurses who are looking to develop a career in general practice. Full support and mentorship will be provided to help the successful candidate grow within the role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to:
* Undertake cervical cytology (smears).
* Provide wound care and dressings.
* Administer vaccinations and immunisations in accordance with national and local guidelines.
* Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care.
* Promote health and wellbeing through patient education and health promotion activities.
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system.
* Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
* Previous experience working in primary care.
* Ability to undertake cervical smears.
* Competent in wound management and dressings.
* Experience administering vaccinations and immunisations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience using GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web or SystmOne.
* Chronic disease management experience (training can be provided).
