Job Description
Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience in analysis and design of piping systems and pressure equipment, who thrives on solving difficult problems? Are you interested in complex design projects and eager to advance to leadership roles, heading projects and mentoring junior engineers?
You will work on pressure equipment design challenges across the energy sector, including systems for cooling safety-critical plants, emergency shutdowns for nuclear reactors, pipework qualification for fusion reactors, supporting UK Submarine and SMR programmes, and renewable energy projects. The role requires juggling multiple projects, so adaptability is essential. Your work will contribute to safe and reliable energy solutions, impacting future energy supplies positively.

Role requirements
You will be part of small to medium multidisciplinary teams, working in collaborative environments at offices or sites, including client locations. You should bring commercial awareness to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently within scope, quality, and budget.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification
* Experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis
* Proficiency in writing detailed technical reports
* Ability to engage with clients and understand their needs
Preferred experience:
* Experience in safety-critical and regulated environments like nuclear power
* Chartered status or nearing registration
* Knowledge of design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445
* Automation experience, preferably in Python
* Experience in requirements capture, bid writing, site support, and compliance standards
