Your work at Leonardo UK will see you take the lead in solving customer problems in an agile,innovativeand team-centric manner. The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers.
What you will do as aSeniorTestEngineer
1. Lead the planning and execution of test work packages, including scope, effort estimates, and schedules.
2. Design, develop, and review test cases, scripts, and supporting documentation.
3. Execute system, integration, and acceptance testing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
4. Take ownership of defect management, collaborating with developers and stakeholders to ensuretimelyresolution.
5. Mentor and guide Test Engineers and Technicians, supporting skills development and knowledge sharing.
6. Conduct reviews of test deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with governance standards.
7. Drive improvements in test practices, tools, and automation frameworks.
8. Contribute to risk assessments, test strategies, and stakeholder reporting.
Whatyou’llbring
9. Strong technical ability with experience delivering test activities in complex programmes.
10. Ability to balance hands-on testing with leadership of test planning and delivery.
11. Confidence torepresenttesting within project teams and customer discussions.
Core areas (must have):
12. Experience creating and executing structured test plans and cases
13. Proficiencywith defect management and test management tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail)
14. Familiarity with automation concepts and scripting for testing (e.g. Selenium, Python, Bash, PowerShell)and manualtesting practices.
15. Knowledge of system integration and acceptance testing methods
16. Understanding of secure working practices and cyber security considerations in testing
17. Familiarity with cloud‑based software delivery and containerisation (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes)
18. Familiarity with ServiceNow or ITSM‑related testing activities
19. Experience working within multi‑supplier delivery environments
20. Confident communication skills suitable for customer‑facing collaboration
21. Awareness of ITIL practices or value streams relevant to service management
Desirable:
22. ISTQB Advanced Level certification or equivalent experience
23. Experience with performance, load, or penetration testing tools (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner, OWASP ZAP)
24. Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps pipelines with integrated testing
25. Familiarity with Agile/SAFedelivery and test automation in agile contexts
26. Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical governance
27. Experience working with government departments or in secure project environments
28. Familiarity with interoperability and interface‑based testing scenarios
29. Experience contributing to multi‑party testing sessions
30. Knowledge of non‑functional testing areas such as reliability, usability,securityor stability

This role can be based at one of our UK siteswith travel to customer sites in the UK and internationally whererequiredwith hybrid/custom working options whereappropriate.
