Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Account Manager is to build and maintain strong, long‑lasting relationships with our partners across all reallymoving service areas, while actively driving new business acquisition through structured prospecting and outreach activity. As a leading comparison website for home‑moving services, reallymoving is committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and driving sustainable business growth. As an Account Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of partner accounts spanning Surveying, Conveyancing, and Removal services, acting as the primary point of contact for all partner interactions, while spending approximately 50% of your time hunting for and onboarding new partners to expand our network and revenue base. Taking a holistic, cross‑service approach, you will identify opportunities to enhance performance, strengthen partner retention, and drive revenue growth across the entire portfolio through both account development and proactive prospecting.
The Account Manager role is offered on a hybrid basis requiring a minimum of 2 days a week attendance at our office in central St Albans, a short walk from St Albans City station.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with a portfolio of partners across all service areas.
Understanding Client Needs: Develop an in-depth understanding of partners' businesses, industries, and goals to provide tailored solutions that support mutual growth.
Account Planning: Create and execute account specific strategies and action plans designed to meet partner needs and deliver against revenue targets.
Communication: Act as the main point of contact for partner enquiries, issues, and escalations, ensuring communication is clear, timely, and solution focused.
Cross Selling & Upselling: Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and maximise account value through effective cross sell and upsell initiatives.
Customer Satisfaction: Monitor partner satisfaction, proactively resolve issues, and anticipate evolving needs to deliver exceptional service.
Reporting & Analysis: Produce regular performance reports, share insights with partners, and analyse key metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Partner Negotiation: Negotiate renewals, pricing, and expanded service adoption to strengthen relationships and drive revenue growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing, Development, and Product teams to ensure account strategies align with wider business goals.
CRM Management: Use internal and external CRM systems effectively to maintain accurate partner records and track activity.
Prospecting & Outreach: Proactively identify, research, and engage new prospective partners through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and networking activity.
New Business Development: Own the full prospecting lifecycle from lead generation through qualification, pitch, negotiation, and onboarding of new partners.
Sales Cycle Management: Manage end-to-end sales cycles, from first contact to close, ensuring a strong pipeline of new opportunities is consistently maintained.
Closing & Stakeholder Engagement: Confidently present solutions and close deals with senior decision-makers, including C-suite and business owners.
Pipeline & Performance Management: Build, track, and optimise your sales pipeline to consistently deliver against new business and revenue targets.
Cross Department Support: Provide support to other departments when required to ensure a seamless partner and customer experience.
What You Will Bring
A minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent qualifications)
Strong sales acumen with proven relationship management skills and confident communicating by phone, email, and in person.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.
High level of IT literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Ability to quickly learn and navigate internal systems and CRM platforms (full training provided).
Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A professional and solution focused approach when handling complaints, issues, or escalations.
Confidence working independently and managing a varied portfolio of partner accounts.
Willingness to travel for to face-to-face partner meetings when required face partner meetings when required.
An interest in ecommerce, digital platforms, digital marketplaces, or online marketing environments.
Experience within property, surveying, removals, or service-based partner environments is desirable but not essential.
Hands-on experience using sales and CRM tools such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar platforms to manage pipelines and prospect effectively. Strong analytical skills with a high level of data literacy — comfortable interpreting performance metrics, sales data, and trends to inform decision-making and optimise results.
Proven ability to balance account management with proactive new business development in a target-driven sales environment.
