Job Description Personal Assistant Personal Assistant Required – Graigwen Area About Me I am a woman in my mid-80s living in the Graigwen area. I have mixed dementia, arthritis, and osteoporosis. I use a Zimmer frame or quad stick indoors to support my mobility. I currently receive support from an agency; however, I am now looking to employ a Personal Assistant to provide better continuity of care. I have always been an active person and enjoy getting out of the house. I have a dog called Joey, who is currently cared for by my son, though occasional interaction with a dog may be required. Purpose of the Role To provide support and assistance within my home and to enable me to spend time out in the community safely and comfortably. Hours of Work Total: 11 hours 45 minutes per week Days: Monday to Sunday Weekly Schedule Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 1 hour 15 minutes per day Morning routine, including showering and preparation of lunch Tuesday & Thursday: 3 hours per day Support with breakfast, community outings, and preparation of lunch Saturday & Sunday: 1 hour per day Morning routine and preparation of lunch Additional Information Two Personal Assistants (PAs) may be considered to share the hours (e.g. one weekday PA and one weekend PA). Rate of Pay £16.50 per hour Mileage will be covered on a private arrangement Main Duties Encourage and support me to wash and change my clothing Supervise to ensure my safety while showering (shower days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) Meal preparation Encourage and prompt me to eat Support with medication Light domestic duties to maintain a clean and tidy home Support with changing incontinence pads Empty sanitary waste bin Accompany me in the community (local coffee shops, shopping, etc.) Ensure my safety both at home and while out in the community Support and able to walk alongside me when using my mobility scooter, which would be used locally Accompany me to hospital appointments or on short car outings Type of Person Required The ideal candidate will be: Calm, patient, and reliable Flexible and efficient Chatty, outgoing and comfortable around a small dog Understanding of dementia, arthritis, and osteoporosis (professionally or personally) A driver with business-class insurance (vehicle that is able to accommodate a wheeled zimmer frame) Someone with similar interests Willing to undergo medication training Female (due to personal care requirements) Additional Information This is a part-time role and will be treated as formal employment.
