Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The operator will be responsible for safely operating a skid steer loader to support construction, landscaping, demolition, or site preparation activities. The role requires strong attention to safety, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate skid steer loader to perform tasks such as earthmoving, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling.
* Load, unload, and transport materials safely around the job site.
* Maintain and inspect the skid steer equipment before, during, and after operation.
* Ensure safe operation and compliance with site safety rules and regulations.
* Assist with site clean-up, preparation, and other general labour duties when required.
* Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
* Work collaboratively with supervisors, ground crew, and other operators to meet project deadlines.
Skills & Requirements
* Proven experience as a Skid Steer Operator (construction, civil, or landscaping background preferred).
* Knowledge of different attachments (bucket, auger, trencher, forks, sweeper, etc.) and their safe use.
* Ability to read and follow site plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
* Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
* Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace health & safety.
* Relevant license/tickets required depending on region – e.g., WTR endorsement in New Zealand, RII ticket in Australia.
* NZ Residents/Citizens or open work visa/WHV candidates
