Warehouse Team Leader - Nectar Imports
Nectar Imports (part of Asahi UK) are seeking a Warehouse Team Leader. The role will manage our late shift team (1pm to 10pm - Monday to Friday).
The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for the warehouse functions at Hindon, ensuring all services within the function are delivered within agreed KPIs (e.g., OTIF, SLA's, budgets etc).
As a Warehouse Team leader this role will be responsible for the managing, coaching, and developing a team of warehouse operatives as well as implementing strategic improvements to deliver efficiencies and improved performance across the site.
This role will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse team are operating compliantly and promoting Health and Safety excellence and will be responsible for the warehouse function in the absence of the warehouse and transport manager.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead and control all warehouse functions at Hindon promoting a safe and efficient working environment whilst achieving key KPIs (e.g., OTIF, SLAs, budgets etc)
* Work closely with the other warehouse team leaders on site to ensure the smooth running of the end-to-end process within the warehouse operation.
* Manage, coach, and develop the team to ensure that the team has the correct skill mix to deliver improvements, carry out daily tasks and cover absences.
* Review the current processes and identify areas to drive improved efficiencies and levels of customer service by implementing warehouse best practice
* Support the Warehouse and Transport Manager in decision around Budget, both Opex and Capex
* Collaborate with key internal and external business partners to resolve key issues and to find pro-active solutions to potential obstacles.
* Working alongside HR to ensure any we support our people across our warehouse site and any people related issues are conducted lawfully and fairly working in accordance with the current Employment laws.
* Working with the wider business in various project groups to drive growth, efficiencies, and savings.
* To be fully accountable for the warehouse function in the absence of the transport and warehouse manager and to be a future successor of this role.
* Working with the other Warehouse Team Leaders to ensure the Warehouse as a whole is fully compliant in all aspects, including legislation, health and safety, contractual obligations, customer SLAs, financial requirements, stock holding levels etc
* Deliver projects to help drive operational improvements across Warehousing activity.
* Accountability to ensure all Warehouse functions such as orders for Same Day, Haulier, and Customer Collections are processed without causing delay.
* Deliver KPIs on performance and efficiency across the team notwithstanding ensuring cost targets are met within budget.
* Working with the Inventory Controller to deliver initiatives to ensure the warehouse maintains stock accuracy.
* Working with CHEP ensuring our pallet holding is not in a stock deficit and put in processes to ensure all pallet movements are being recorded.
* Ensure all company warehouse equipment is kept in a condition to comply with current legislation.
* Act as SME on Warehouse Best Practice and Legislation, providing updates to other Distribution Managers and the Secondary Distribution Manager accordingly
* Be responsible for the health and safety of the warehouse team and site in the absence of the transport and warehouse manager.
* Monitor Health and Safety to ensure that all health and safety procedures are known and followed by all colleagues.
* Ensure any incidents or accidents are fully investigated, dealt with through company procedure and any effected areas are made safe immediately.
* Maintain the accident record book and report any H&S deficiencies to the Health and Safety Officer and make recommendations
Experience, Competence Requirements and Personal Characteristics
* Strong Experience in Warehousing Management at site level.
* Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and efficiencies and sharing these across shift patterns in the beer or similar FMCG business.
* Proven leadership and team management experience in order to deliver team KPIs and objectives
* Strong Health and safety experience both in compliance and team engagement
* Strong business acumen, understanding priorities and functional requirements.
* Experience of delivering strategic project work and planning including logistics optimisation, and digital innovation experience – desirable.
* Strong communication skills; inspiring teams to embrace challenges & own the performance
* Experience of budget ownership and delivering against said budget
* Relevant warehouse management qualification or experience
