The role supports the Head of Operations and manages the daily operations of the Resident Welfare Team. The team works closely with the Probation Service, Customer Service Centre, and Property Team to ensure smooth transition of clients leaving prison into their accommodation.
The post holder will manage Resident Welfare Officers providing housing support to enable clients to maintain and move into settled accommodation, supporting their aspirations for independent living. The role involves partnership and collaboration with colleagues, external agencies, third parties, and charities to support resettlement, community cohesion, and sustainability.
Principle Accountabilities
* Manage the Resident Welfare Officer Team to deliver a person-centred service, including out-of-hours provision.
* Procure and maintain accommodation to required standards. Lead, motivate, and support staff to meet contractual requirements.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, accountability, and recognition.
* Ensure safeguarding and welfare are integrated into service delivery.
* Achieve contractual compliance and meet KPIs and targets.
* Manage risks through planning and timely escalation.
* Build relationships with internal and external partners to support service delivery and property procurement.
* Deliver a customer-focused service tailored to individual needs, with cultural sensitivity.
* Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Provide performance reports and escalate risks as needed.
* Maintain accurate records and IT data to meet contractual requirements.
* Undertake projects and support colleagues as required.
* Comply with Mears policies, code of conduct, and contractual terms.
Role Criteria
* Flexible working approach and ability to meet deadlines.
* Management and/or leadership experience.
* Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Ability to work independently.
* Understanding of different cultures.
* Experience working collaboratively and in partnership.
* Relevant experience in a similar role.
* Full UK Driving License.
