Associate Practitioner Research and Development and Pathology
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a member of the Research and Development team in BCUHB. The role will provide research pathology support for staff across the organisation and manage, with the support of the Research team, all research governance and processes required on behalf of the organisation. It will be based primarily at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with potential travel to other BCUHB sites.
Overview
This post will provide comprehensive laboratory support for the Research and Development Department and advise all staff engaged in research. Although Welsh language skills are desirable, Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome.
Main Duties
* Assist with pathology support of clinical research across BCUHB
* Provide laboratory support to deliver the local and national research agenda
* Travel regularly between NHS and other BCUHB sites as required

Person Specification
* Qualification
o Diploma level qualification in Pathology or a clinical subject, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
o ECDE or equivalent (desirable)
* Experience
o Previous experience working within a pathology or clinical environment
o Experience with POCT and R&D systems
* Aptitude and Abilities
o Works well as part of a team, but also autonomously
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Ability to use computer software packages, spreadsheets and databases
* Other
o Flexible and adaptable to meet all aspects of the department’s work
o Ability to travel within the geographical area
