Job description Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and restaurant service. Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food production and preparation. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in menu planning, including seasonal offerings and special events. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Qualifications Proven experience as a Cook or Sous Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food safety regulations. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
