This Quality Engineer will report to the Quality and Assurance Manager and will work within Governance, Risk, Compliance & Quality with UKPN Services based in our Heathrow/Central London Area office. You will be a permanent employee. You will provide competent quality management advice to promote compliance with ISO 9001:2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction, and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing quality management advice about ISO 9001:2015 to stakeholders during tendering and construction phases, ensuring the quality management system supports the design, build, finance, operation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
2. Reviewing and developing procedures and processes, including communication, implementation, and monitoring within the organization.
3. Monitoring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, legal, moral, and client standards, conducting audits, producing reports, and ensuring prompt resolution of findings.
4. Assisting Project Managers in reviewing project documents, developing training materials, and supporting incident investigations.
5. Monitoring suppliers and subcontractors, conducting external audits, and performing performance inspections.
6. Ensuring site certification of materials and equipment, maintaining records, and supporting final documentation.
7. Facilitating third-party audits and championing quality processes to maintain certification.
You will visit UKPN services, client offices, and project sites, working with management across all directorates and representing the organization externally.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* HNC or equivalent in Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, or Engineering.
* Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute, aspiring for Chartered status.
* Experience in quality management systems within the construction industry.
* Knowledge of UK CDM regulations (2015).
* Trained QMS Auditor/Internal Auditor with ISO 9001:2015 experience.
* Experience with root cause analysis.
* Ability to obtain client access passes and licenses.
* Valid UK driving license.
Desirable skills:
* Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks.
* Experience with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 audits.
* Knowledge of ISO 55001:2024, ISO 44001:2017, ISO 19650 series.
* Strong communication, presentation, planning, and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
UK Power Networks Services offers a salary of £54,166, plus a car allowance and a 3% bonus. The role requires experience with UK CDM (2015) in a construction environment. The application deadline is 11/09/2025.
