Working hours would be term time - Monday to Friday 2pm until 6pm. holidays and inservice day cover - Monday to Friday available from 8am -6pm.
At least 1 year experience of working in a Management position. The manager will hold at least an SVQ Level 4 in Childcare or equivalent and be willing to work towards a Level 9 qualification in Childhood Practice.
Main duties include:
· Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
· Providing comprehensive care for the children consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
· Providing support and supervision to staff
· Holding regular staff meetings and conducting regular reviews, supervisions and appraisals for staff
· Administration and record keeping, including staff and child records, ordering and purchasing, and working within an agreed budget.
· Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the service, with schools, and especially with parents/ Careers.
· Undertaking appropriate and relevant training if and when required.
· Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
· Ensuring all policies and procedures are current and adhered to reviewing and updating all policies and procedures as necessary.
· Administrative duties.
· Organising and completing evaluations and being the Registered Manager working in line with the Care Inspectorate and SSSC guidelines.
· Essential that you have a gift of working with children and their parent/ careers /guardians.
Requirements:
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work on own initiative.
· Experienced in childcare or having worked in this setting before.
· Appropriate Level 4 qualification or above
· Passionate and enthusiastic for working with children
· Knows how to create a fun and creative working environment for staff/ children
· Is able to monitor and evaluate the quality of the service, ensuring that all staff work within the service policies, guidance, safeguarding and procedures
· Able to interact well with both children and parents/ careers/ guardians.
· Experience of working with 4 to 14 year old children and experience of administration duties for children files.
· Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity
· Proven leadership skills and lead and guide the team.
