Overview
Shape the future of naval operations at Babcock’s Devonport site. As a Trainee Duty Manager you will be at the heart of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth running of authorized site and cross‑site submarine support activities and leading responses to abnormal events.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day authorized site and cross‑site submarine support activities.
* Support the Authorized Site Facility Operator and Nuclear Site Plant Manager in support operations and maintenance.
* Act as Forward Support Commander during emergency situations under the Devonport Site Emergency Plan.
* Lead initial response to abnormal events or operations on site.
* Investigate health, safety, technical issues promptly.
* Coordinate between Babcock Marine operations and the Naval Base.
* Communicate incidents and updates to senior leadership.
Essential Experience
* Site and facilities operations background.
* Previous leadership experience.
* Dockyard experience (advantageous).
* Experience in submarine/naval operations or pressurised water reactor systems beneficial.
Qualifications
* Level 4 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) clearance. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, place of birth, and residency.
