We are working with a high growth privately owned business looking for a new part time Accounts Assistant (20-30 hours per week.) The client is a niche specialist within the construction sector, operating throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will be based locally and able to work on site in the office, supporting the day to day finance for approx 20-30 hours per week. This role reports to the Managing Director, contributing to the smooth running of the day-to-day finance activities for the business.
Key responsibilities:
You will responsible for supporting a wide range of accounting tasks whilst the team is lean and is growing
Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts
Building a good rapport with clients and providing the accounting team and wider stakeholders with relevant information and reporting
Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Collecting monthly direct debits and making payments
Preparing and entering journals into the system
Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties
Day to day administrative tasks
Communicate directly with customers and handle queries relating to invoices and other accounting issues.
Key skills & experience:
Excellent organisational skills
Solid low-level accountancy and basic bookkeeping skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Computer literacy and a working knowledge of accounting packages and Excel
Solid understanding of financial systems and processes
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations
