Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.Main ResponsibilitiesHandling of customer orders for plant and equipment, responding to faults and urgent plant requestsRecording and controlling of the material plant issue forms to ensure projects are charged correctly and inventory control can record stock movements accuratelyRaising of capital and revenue projects/orders and monitoring of expenditureRecord and monitor the calibration of tools and lifting equipment, Specifically, Lloyds British and Acutest schedules, update of Crown with the appropriate informationRecord staff holidays and training recordsGeneral administrative dutiesThe co-ordination of the team's response to network faultsResponding to customer enquiries both verbally and in writingAssisting the Team Manager with work programmingThe inputting of data into the appropriate data base to support the Plant Centre TeamAssisting other Team Members as and when requiredDeal with suppliers and outside contractor queriesArrange/schedule transport deliveries of finished goods to all network depotsRecord all quality issues. Liaison with supplier quality teams. Arrange and monitor all returns and work with appropriate NGED teams. Eg Policy and Procurement. Arrange and record the collection of scrap metals and scrap SF6 equipment. Monitor and order general office and miscellaneous engineering materials as required.Assisting TM/OM with transport Logistics managementAssist with Technician/Planners plant queries The Ideal CandidateYou must be able to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing, with internal customers, suppliers and other NGED teams and must be prepared to represent the company positively at all times.You must be reliable, well organised and able to work as part of a small team using your own initiative. Excellent Microsoft office skills are key with particular emphasis on Excel. Basic knowledge of plant and equipment used on our network would be advantageous.National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
